40th Anniversary of the Apollo XI Moon Landing

 

We will be presenting an exciting program

at the California Science Center

on Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 12 - 3:30 pm

 

Noon - 12:45 pm      Visit the California Science Center's SKETCH Foundation Gallery Air & Space Exhibits. Visitors will be able to see Dr. Buzz Aldrin's moon rock and an example of an actual Apollo Capsule.

1 - 2:15 pm                At the Loker Conference Center attend a panel discussing "From Apollo XI to the First Humans on Mars."  Panelists include: Dr. Buzz Aldrin, Apollo XI Astronaut, Dr. Howard McCurdy – Moderator, Richard Searfoss – STS 90 Mission Commander, Jim Stammreich – VP of Strategy of the Boeing Company, Thomas Taverney – Sr. Vice President of SAIC, Michael Sander – JPL Rover Scientist, and Dean Davis, AIAA LA Section Chair.

2:30 - 3:30 pm           View an exclusive, private screening of the IMAX film, "Magnificent Desolation," with an introduction by Dr. Buzz Aldrin.

 Notes:

  • You must be a current AIAA or California Science Center Foundation Member to receive the member discount.  We will verify your membership status when we receive your RSVP.  Please visit www.aiaa.org to become an AIAA member or www.californiasciencecenter.org to become a California Science Center Foundation Member.
  • To receive the student discount, you must show a current student ID upon event check-in.
  • There will not be any opportunity for book signing at this event.
  • Self-parking at the museum is available for $8 per car.

 CANCELLATION POLICY: If you need to cancel your ticket(s), please contact susang@aiaa.org or (310) 726-5003 no later than July 20th at 9 am for a refund.  After this time, all tickets are nonrefundable.
